With Mo's death, Barry shut down and Robin revved up and it took Robin's death to rev Barry up after a decade of Robin wanting him to work with him. Again, very, very sad. Yasmine ps. I just thought of something; if Barry was in such a bad space with Robin when he died, why did they apparently talk about Snow? After all, that had the potential to be a very tricky subject. It's so ironical and sad. The situation must be really sad for Barry. I really hope he will find solace and strength on stage and through music. They were starting to talk about the Olympics and some other shows last summer. I've heard from some people in Miami that Barry met Paul McCartney when he was in Florida. Paul was one of the very few artists Barry and Robin really looked up to. Paul said he would of course do the Olympics, and Barry agreed. Also, Barry's ear problem was finally improving at that time, I think. But then Robin went quickly downhill. He went through several very intense chemotherapy sessions while continuing his work on Titanic (and also First World War Memoriam if what's reported in the recent Mirror article is true). > ps. I just thought of something; if Barry was in such a bad space with > Robin when he died, why did they apparently talk about Snow? After all, > that had the potential to be a very tricky subject. Again, if we believe the Daily Mail article, they could have talked about it at any time after February 2009. In a February interview at around the time of his Hard Rock Cafe shows, Barry said, when asked about Robin's condition, he wished he knew. At that time, most of us thought it was a strange remark, as though he was not interested enough. ("Why doesn't he call Robin's house and ask?" and that sort of thing.) But after the Aussie interview this time, I'm beginning to think what Barry meant was he wished he knew what the true situation was. The timeline surrounding Robin's illness was always very confusing. It also seems Robin was intent on carrying on at the cost of his own health. So Robin could have insisted that he was really fine, while Barry kept wishing to know the truth. Remember the Steve Wright radio interview Robin did in February? He absolutely insisted that he was feeling the best he had in 10 years. He was in remission at that time and was on the mend, but was obviously still very, very unwell. Barry was not the only one who was confused and sad about the situation. All fans were. Best, Kate Yasmine Ghulamali wrote: > If you are right, the irony is beyond belief (for me). The implication was that Robin would not. Remember the John Merchant interview from May? (Link below) http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/entertainment/thingstodo/2012/05/robin_gibb_remembered_in_south.html Merchant who started working at Middle Ear in late '80s also said that Robin was growing more reluctant to sing leads even on songs which Barry particularly made to highlight Robin's voice. I was rather surprised when I first read it. Why do you think that is? Merchant himself said that Robin sounded great, and we all know that he remained a great singer and never lost his voice to the very end. So I kept wondering why.
