I love that country Bee Gees sound!! > -- > Julie > I think definitely Mr. Natural features the best piano arrangements. I was listening to the album the other day and I love the piano playing on it. Even my husband, who's not a Bee Gees fan, said he liked it. Unfortunately, it didn't capture the public's imagination, but I think it's a great sound. I also listened to 'Main Course' and noticed that the piano on some of that's very similar. I love 'Baby As You Turn Away', which seems to be virtually ignored, unlike the more popular 'Jive Talkin'', but I'm not really a disco fan. I think it's a shame that some people still judge them purely for their disco style when they've done so many other different styles. Although I don't like everything they've done, their wide range still never ceases to amaze me. I hope we are all invited to the premiere! ; ) Gisele Anyway, I got more fired up than ever when I got back, worked hard on the screenplay, hired a former Vice President for Script Development from Universal Studios as my Script Consultant, and I'm getting real close to completion (should have been done long ago, but you can't force it, and I'm so busy in other projects too). I am determined to make it pass the strictest quality tests before I market it, as it will, if made as envisioned, introduce the public to a great deal of Bee Gees music they missed while they had their heads up their rears (about the Bee Gees). I wrote to Barry, sending a 10 page scene, which is so much more refined now that I'm almost embarrassed about where it was at then. I never heard back from him. On Oct. 15th 1999, I got a call from Musicares / NARAS, and the woman asked me if I wanted to go to the premiere of Saturday Night Fever - The Musical on the 21st, I believe it was (just 6 days or so away). I had heard about the show some weeks prior, and had even called the Minskoff Theatre, but they said it was invitation only, so I forgot about it. I hadn't mentioned it to Barry in my letter, if indeed I had even heard of it yet at the time I wrote. I said YES, and asked "how did you end up calling me", since I hadn't even heard of this group. She explained that they provide charity to crippled musicians, etc., etc. She said that Barry had insisted that if he was to appear at the premiere, 100 tickets would have to be given to this charity, and he provided a list of people he wanted called first to see if they wanted to go. The price was a $150 donation to Musicares / NARAS per ticket, with no limit on how many tickets you could buy, but only on that one telephone call (you could buy up to how ever many of the 100 tickets were left). She said they had sold 36 so far, the last being to the Bee Gees law firm, who bought 12. The first 50 would also be invited to the VIP party afterward, so we got to go to that too, at the China Club. So I bought 2 (which made a lot of my friends mad when they heard I could have bought them tickets too, but I had to buy right then, or they would all be gone in a few more minutes, and didn't know if any of my friends could or would even want to go). We got there and got to meet all the boys, and both Barry & Maurice knew who I was when I mentioned my name and the screenplay. Robin said he hadn't heard about it, since he had been in England, and asked me to tell him about it, which I did. Later, at the China Club, I spoke to Barry a little more. He was the only one that came out of the "VIP-VIP" curtain to chat with some of us. It was a very exciting night. I got pictures with Rosie O'Donnell, Ben Vereen, and many other celebs were there, including Fergie, Madonna, Florence Henderson, Katie Curic (Today Show), Tony Randall, etc., though I didn't meet or see them all. I also spent a lot of time with the man, whose name escapes me, who owns the studio (studio name escape me, too - It's almost 2 AM here in San Jose, CA) in NYC where Barry & Maurice recorded their part of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" (Robin did his part in England).
