I try to describe these songs to people and I can never quite put my finger on what it is about them that I appreciate so much. They are both certainly sort of "bluesy", but not exactly. The Bee Gees really did have a knack for achieving that particular morose feeling (however it can be described) with their vocals and instrumentations. Those are two of the songs that really got me listening to the Bee Gees music way back when I heard them on Best of Bee Gees Vol II.
