Michelle thinks you were replying to Yakima, so perhaps I'm the one who got it wrong. It gets a little confusing sometimes, especially for those of us on digest. I think you have to make sure they're not too long. BTW, I didn't write what you're quoting me as saying. Richard wrote it and I just replied to Sal's reply, with or without Yakima's reply in between! Confused? Did you get through in the end, Lee? It occurred to me, they might have been working on the website or doing some kind of test for future occasions. No, Barry wasn't online. His chat administrator was testing the chat and logged on using Barry's name. I only stayed for a short while, but it appeared the administrator was tweaking the chat and looking for some feedback on how to improve things. Some suggestions/comments I read included (now please don't take shots at me, I'm only telling you what I read) requests that the chat text be in all caps to make it easier to read, slowing down the chat speed (scroll) to make it easier for slow readers to keep up with the conversation, changing the font size, making the chat window full screen, establishing chat rules, highlighting Barry's text or making his text all caps, emailing questions to Barry in prior to the live chat and ideas like allowing people to enter the chat room early so the server doesn't crash when 100 people try to log on at the same time. Personally, my biggest concern about the way the chat is set up is having 500 people in the chat room and 50 of them feeling the need to say "Hi Barry", "I love you Barry", "I've been a fan of yours all my life", "Do you remember me from 1983?" all at the same time. I've seen this happen in other celebrity chats and it's very annoying. The celebrity spends half the chat time saying hello (just to be polite) and very little time actually answering any questions. I'd much rather just read the questions and Barry's response. I'm hoping (I know, wishful thinking here) that people won't ask Barry the same boring questions that he has been asked in just about every interview over the past 20 years. If one hasn't heard the story behind Jive Talkin' or Saturday Night Fever then please go read "da book" first! LOL Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the next chat date and hope they have worked out the server problems by then. Gibb has taken it upon himself to turn grief into rejoicing with an extensive plan to keep Maurice's memory and the Bee Gees' music alive. Gibb's co-manager John Campbell says a slate of Bee Gees events begins next year. In the works are a Maurice Gibb tribute album, a free summer concert in Central Park, a prime-time special, a Broadway musical, a film and a book."
