F. Mayer" Subject: TV: ARD and ZDF yesterday Germany's main TV stations ARD and ZDF both featured the Bee Gees yesterday in prime time. First of all, there was a film called "Single sucht Nachwuchs" in ARD, that used three times the song "How deep is your love" as a film score. Two times in the original version right in the front without any dialogue over it, one time in a modern instrumental version in which you could only slightly recognize the HDIYL melody and so get the feeling that the couple could come together again (which it did, of course, in the end; the film finishing with the original song to be repeated). Switching to ZDF after that led to Gottschalk's talk show (that featured Robin last week, who performed HDIYL) in which Cliff Richard sang some songs just with a guitar. He presented some short pieces of his evergreens and then asked to do a new song, "which has written Barry Gibb for me": "I Cannot Give You My Love". He played the first verse and the chorus and got several minutes of applause. I agree to what someone has written here some months ago, that this is one of the best pieces of work that came out of the Gibb camp in the last years. Much, much better than the disillusioning comments from there.
