And like Barbra ordered the song from a price list like this: Stranger in a Strange Land................USD Main Theme.............................49,900 Chorus.................................74,900 Lyrics.................................10,000 Solo.....................................0.00 (returned merchandise) Use of themes from other songs: Wildflower..............................5,900 Emotions (with Barry's voice)..........69,900 Too Much Heaven.......................249,900 Other: Modulation to a different key...........2,900 (each) Doubling Barry's voice harmonically.......500 The very first time I listened to the song I thought it was like a demo - there is no "wall of sound", Barry's too loud for a back-vocal, and it just doesn't hypnotize me like "Woman in Love" (I mean the sounds of the instruments, not Barbra). And if I compare the two songs I think the new one wouldn't make it in the 70s. On the other hand I cry the same about every new thing from the Gibbs, but later I learn to like it, kinda. But in any case this song is better than anything McCartney has recorded in the last 16 years, so Barry wins again.
