In the days leading up to last night's performance, I thought I might try to avoid videos and other reports so as to be surprised next week at Jones Beach. That didn't last long. The way I see it, there are so few bursts of activity in Gibbworld that it's a shame to miss any action as it occurs. Besides, I'm superstitious as well as obsessive. If I skip the reports in order to be surprised, then something unfortunate will happen, like the Jones Beach Theater sinking into nearby Zachs Bay this weekend. (It's the same principle as deciding to carry an umbrella to ward off the possibility of rain.) Speaking of rain, I've added frequent checks of the constantly changing 10-day weather forecast to my daily inspection of the Jones Beach seating map. Last but not least, I'm glad to hear that Chris Mathis seems to have gotten white-glove treatment at last night's concert. He certainly deserves it given everything he's done to keep this list up and running through the years.
