Back then, you would just stare at them intensely while they were trying to have lunch at a local restaurant... As for Linda, I don't think I've ever written anything about her. Spouses and kids always seemed kind of off limits to me. I've had fun writing about Barry's mom, but then again, she gives such lovely interviews... Back then, my kids were still in high school, and it was hard to keep up with all the conversations. These days I can participate a bit more freely without worrying about the day to day stuff. In fact, I can even respond on my phone, like I am now! Makes for bad editing though. Apologies to all for not always bring able to trim this stuff down with my budget conscious phone and all... I have no way of confirming that I'm right or wrong about this, but I notice when listening to this again -- thirty plus years later, of course -- that there are places where it sounds like I could be singing it, and places where it doesn't sound like I could be singing it. Because while we both kind of sound like Andy, Barry sounds like Andy one way, and I sound like him another way, and Barry and I -- despite my best efforts -- don't really sound like each other all that much. Even when we're both trying to sound just like Andy. Honestly, this sounds like it could be the start of a psychosis. But fortunately, oak tree pollen should be kicking in shortly, which will make all my singing sound like David Brinkley till the end of June. So that should help... When the weather gets nicer, as it is now getting, it is amazing to drive to that song.
