(Question For Anne Simpson) Hi Terry, Sorry for the delay in replying - I no longer check my personal email daily. You're very welcome for the photos of Robin's grave, which I *think* has, by now, been accorded a proper marker/stone (does anyone know or have photos of same?) I thought I also sent Chris photos of the Blue Plaque unveiling which I took the next day, but I never saw them posted to the list. I am happy to share them again if anyone is still interested. --=3D=3D Anne =E2=80=A6 -----Original Message----- From: words@brothersgibb.com [mailto:words@brothersgibb.com] On Behalf Of Terry Tucker Sent: May 28, 2013 3:56 PM To: words List Member Subject: [words] Robin's Knighthood.. (Question For Anne Simpson) Anne did send some messages to the brothersgibb.net site when it was up briefly last year. Here are the only ones posted from the words server. Anne Simpson deserves credit for the Grave/Prebendal pictures. Note, have a sense of humor on a couple of these! How awful. Any idea when this happened? It is SUCH a beautiful monument, and one of which I am sure Robin would have been justly proud. I recall posting when I visited last fall that I was moved by the fact that people were leaving poppies, using it as the memorial it was intended to be. I certainly hope it is cleaned up quickly. --=3D=3D Anne =85 -----Original Message----- How sad is this!!!!=A0 The Bomber Memorial is not even a year old....and spray painted this!!!!!! =A0 Genny =A0 http://libreprensa.com/k/Bee%20Gee%20Robin%20Gibb/877128 Date: Sat, 1 Jun 2013 15:03:17 -0400 From: Anne Simpson <bgfan@bell.net> Subject: RE: Robin Gibb Collectors set Thanks Marty. But after getting the set (which is as good as Mythology in layout), I was blown away by his 18 minute interview. SO MANY insights as to how the brothers think and how different they were. Check it out. There are some used ones available. Date: Sat, 1 Jun 2013 15:49:04 -0400 From: Anne Simpson <bgfan@bell.net> Subject: RE: Barry Mail Interview I found that strange too. I didn't harbour any illusion that they were close friends, but I assume they've met and are at least acquaintances. Perhaps that's what Barry means here. Sadly, he's always said he wanted to be closer to Paul - to work with him. As for arguments between Barry and Robin, when we remember that they were polar opposites in many respects, it's understandable. Without the "man in the middle," however, it's sadly obvious that they were never really able to meld together, despite their closeness. It's my impression that Robin was always the one who was more willing to keep the door open, but Barry wasn't interested until it was too late. And both suffered from that. :( --== Anne . -----Original Message----- It looks like they were both quick to anger. Obviously, that could have been a major source for the arguments. Also, Barry doesn't actually know MacCartney? You would think they would but, it seems like alot of stars, even if similar artists like Barry and Paul, don't really know each other personally. I guess we jut assume they do. Sal Date: Sat, 1 Jun 2013 15:52:39 -0400 From: Anne Simpson <bgfan@bell.net> Subject: RE: Robin's Knighthood.. It was aired in the UK this year. That, to me, suggests that a DVD is *possible.* I sincerely hope it is eventually released! I personally think "Don't Cry Alone" may be one of Robin's best songs ever. Unfortunately, I've not been able to listen to it since the TR concert.
