I have to tell everyone about my wonderful evening last >night. I read on a Bee Gees website that the tribute group, Stayin' Alive, >would be appearing in a few shows on the west coast, USA. Well, I rearranged >my dairy farm milking schedule and managed the 150 mile round trip to make it >to Longview, Washington. > >Well, we were the first ones there and sat (of course) in the > front >row. The group did 90 minutes of all the wonderful Bee Gees hits and it was >just so wonderful. They are wonderful musicians, not as good as the real >thing, but nevertheless very good. And of course, for any of you who haven't >seen them, they have the clothes, the mannerisms, the voices, etc. all done >quite well. I wished they had done the "medley", and the show ended all too >soon. But I had a delightful evening and it was certainly worth the time and >trouble. > I'm glad you had a good time> I'm personally not into cover bands so passed when they played locally. I have spoken to the manager of "Stayin' Alive " a couple of times. He told his band are also a Eagles cover band ( plus a few others). I still don't know why Paul was knighted and not the others. But Sir Mick??? Aren't knights supposed to have a certain amount of decorum? Not to say Paul didn't sow his wild oats, but that was 30 years ago, he was faithful to his wife for 30 years, etc. Maybe I'm old fashioned- I know I am, but Sir Mick is ridiculous- and I like the Rolling Stones.
