I'm content to sing along with those words; although, I'm willing to try "Heartbreak lane" for variety. ;o) You are certainly correct in saying that lyrics don't always make sense--at least not to me, mere mortal that I am. Maybe the lyrics are intentionally vague so we can each experience the song based on our own life experience. It's an exchange between Robin and Barry from the VH-1 Storytellers show that goes something like this, in regards to the song "I Started A Joke" Barry: "We've often been asked what this song is about. I'm not sure what Robin meant by it." Robin: "Neither am I." The audience got a big laugh from this, of course, but underneath is a serious tone. They don't *want* to dictate what a song is about; they'd rather leave the interpretation of most of their songs to the listener. ~8^) Pat Wong (ICQ #61070813) http://www.napathon.com ----------------------------------------------- "We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out."
