I know that the Gibbs broke up the band for this album and it was not a happy camp with in the gibb brothers at the time but how does this reflect what the record company release years later on cd. I myself have it on cd and think it's one of there best, Is there anybody on this list think that It's a bad album or knows why It' so rare and brings big prices on e-bay Brian ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2002 15:31:43 -0700 (PDT) From: Mary Rose Subject: Re: (no subject) I have been told it is out of print and what is out there is all there will ever be. I have found it impossible to obtain unless I'm willing to pay really big bucks for it. Had a friend make me a copy so at least I have that. The reason why it's goes for so much is just that, it's rare as hell (pardon my french) and obviously some people seem to think it's worth the dough to buy it. As you said, it's a damn good album never mind what the Gibb's say themselves! I'm glad I got one of the Japan issues before it sold out there as well and don't have to worry my head about it anymore. Why Polydor/Universal never had the common sense to re-release it on CD once the first pressings sold out is beyond me. Hopefully we get to see it re-released in Japan again if we are to judge by Universal re-issuing the Melody soundtrack and replacing the old Polydor issue. Maybe Universal in Japan are to do so with the rest of the Bee Gees back-catalogue? I hope so, even if a Japanese import goes for $25-$30 it is a lot cheaper than the prices they go for on Ebay. But on the other hand I saw a Brit paying $40+ for the Carola Runaway album and that wasn't even the original. Some people should do better research :o) /Ronnie _____________________________________________________ Hitta snörapporter... från 500 olika skidorter i Europa på http://se.snow.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Apr 2002 09:48:20 +0930 From: "Mary Pridham" Subject: RE: (no subject) Living Eyes is one of my favourite albums. I had it on order with a music shop for four months before I eventually gave up on it. In the meantime a friend copied her copy, so I have my own CD now. That doesn't mean that I will give up trying to get an original for my collection though. I love most of the songs on it - I find it is music that really moves me. There is one song in particular (wish I could remember the name) that sounds almost exactly like one on Andy's greatest hits. Love the music, words - the total sound.
